Garbage trucks are essential specialized vehicles in municipal sanitation systems, primarily responsible for collecting and transporting daily household garbage and waste, playing a vital role in maintaining urban cleanliness and safeguarding public health.Basic Structure and Function
Chassis: The foundation of the truck, providing power and driving capability.
Cargo: The container for loading garbage, available in various configurations, such as compression and sealed, depending on the model.
Loader/Lifting Mechanism: The device used to drop garbage or automatically retrieve the garbage can.
Hydraulic Sysem: The “muscle” of the garbage truck, providing power for all actions, including compression, lifting, and dumping.
Electrical System: Controls the entire vehicle’s operation.
Sealing System: Prevents garbage from scattering and sewage from leaking during transportation, a key environmental design feature.
III. Workflow
Take a typical compactor garbage truck as an example:Collection: Workers load garbage from roadside bins into the rear loading port of the truck along a predetermined route.
Compression: When a certain amount of garbage accumulates, the compression mechanism activates, compressing the garbage to the front of the truck.
Transfer: Once the truck is full, the loading mechanism closes and the truck is driven to a waste treatment facility (landfill, incinerator, etc.).
Dumping: Upon arrival at the destination, the truck lifts the compressed garbage and unloads it.
